Finally, select the action: "All>Confirm" to remove all
existing revision bars in the document.
Hints From LeafLine
Prior to establishing it's World Wide Web site
(at http://www.ileaf.com),
Interleaf had a dial-up bulletin board called LeafLine. This tip was found on
that bulletin board.
Adding "(continued)" To A Table Header
The following instructions tell how you can use effectivity control to cause the
word "(continued)" to appear in the header on all pages of a table
except the first page. For more information on effectivity control, see the
chapter Effectivity Control in the Document Management manual.
- Select the document icon and open the Control sheet of its Object property sheet.
- You use this sheet to control the appearance of an element of a document.
- Under Attributes, type table begin.
- Set type to enumerated.
- In the box to the right of enumerated, enter 1.
- Apply and close the Object property sheet.
- In the component bar, select the name of the header row in which you
want "(continued)" to appear.
- Open the Row property sheet.
- Select the Attrs sheet.
- At table begin, enter 1.
- Apply and close the Row property sheet.
- Place the cursor in the position in the header row where you want
"(continued)" to appear, and execute:
Create>Ref>Attrs>table begin.
- A black box appears with the number 1 in the header row and the
Attribute Reference property sheet opens.
- In the Attribute Reference property sheet, enter 1 in the first Value box.
To have any page that doesn't have the value 1 associated with it contain the
text "(continued)":
- Leave the Value box on the next line blank.
- Enter (continued) in the Show box.
- Execute Apply and close the property sheet.
The black box on the first page disappears when you move the caret and
"(continued)" appears in that position on subsequent pages.
You can use this procedure to control words in both header and footer rows.
Creating Dictionary Headers
Many Interleaf users have an increasing need to have different headers
in their header frames on a page-by-page basis within the same document.
The following procedure, using Effectivity Control, explains how to
accomplish this.
- Create and open a document and select props of the document.
Select "Control" on the Object Property Sheet and
enter "head" as the attribute.
- Apply and close.
- In the header of the the document, create a microdocument with:
Create>Misc>Microdoc>para
and then select Props>Edit.
(Your text cursor should be in your microdocument.)
- Create>Ref>Attrs>head.
"Nil" appears in the microdoc and the Attribute
Reference property sheet opens.
For the categories of Value and Show:
- Enter the number "1" in the first box and "head1"
in the box to the right.
- Continue adding entries of "2", "3"
and "4" as well as "head2", "head3"
and "head4" in the same format.
- Apply and close.
- Select the para component, choose props and select the "Attrs"
category of the Component Property sheet.
- In the empty box to the right of the "head" attribute, enter 1
and apply.
- The reference in the header should now read "head1".
Select a component on the following page, enter 2, 3 or 4 for the
attribute and notice how the header is different than that of the
first page.
NOTE: Any component on each page can be selected for the attribute entry.
