Different Header For Chapter Start

Did you ever want to have a different header on the first page of each new chapter? You could create a book, split the document so each chapter was a new file, and set each file to have a "different first header", but this may not be convenient.

Glenn Hill of Inmos, Bristol, UK (yes, our Arizona Interleaf Users Group has had an international impact) modified a technique suggested by Sherry Anderson of Allied-Signal in our June 1992 issue to suit his need.

Glenn reports that the component he uses to start every chapter includes a prefix. He created an overlay frame which is anchored in the prefix (so that every chapter receives the same treatment). The frame is set to the same size and position as the normal page header. He hides the normal header with a white-filled box (with no edge showing), and adds the special header definition he wants to have for the first page of every chapter.

Glenn says this technique works well for him and he thanks the AIUG for the idea which lead to the solution of this problem.
