Liz Walker
AIUG Chairperson
AG Communication Systems, Phoenix
Normally, this is when we would ask you all to register for another year of membership in AIUG. However, since activities were significantly curtailed during the past year (partially due to schedule conflicts within the Executive Committee), we have decided to provide an additional year's membership at no cost to all current AIUG members. If needed, please send mailing address changes to crash@syspac.com.
If you are not already a member of the AIUG and would likt to join, please fill in our convenient form.
Over the past several years it has become increasingly more difficult for Allied Signal Military Technical Publications to get our Customer Support Engineers to review our manuals because of the amount of time they spend traveling.
The solution for us was to install Interleaf's WorldView software on each Engineer's laptop computer and provide Printerleaf (.pl) files on CD-ROM which they could take with them when they were traveling. Now the Engineers can review the documents and annotate any comments in WorldView even when they are away from the home office.
When the Engineer returns we simply download the WorldView annotation (WVANNOT) file with any comments. This process has reduced the amount of time it takes to get our documents reviewed and shipped to our customer.
