Option Directories -- Overview

This is a simple high-level structure diagram, showing the relationship between a "master" /opt node and the workstations which refer to it.

Note the value of the /opt/mstr symbolic link. This is how our workstations are set; its value on your network will depend on your master node's hostname, the structure of your network file system, and your choice as to where to put your master opt directory, which, as you can see, doesn't even have to be called "opt".
